International
Students
Immigration
authorities require that all international students submit proof
of their ability to meet all their financial obligations while
pursuing graduate studies at the University. International
students must maintain full-time status.
International
students who whish to enter Graduate Arts & Sciences programs
for the fall term in September must submit applications by March
1. Those who hope to begin studies in the spring term must apply
by November 1.
In addition to
the completed application package and $30 non-refundable
application fee, international students must submit the following
documents:
- Official
translated copies of all college records;
- Official
score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
(minimum composite score of 550 or 213 on computerized test
required on the TOEFL for students to be eligible for
admission);
- An affidavit
of support signed by the sponsoring person or agency and a
letter from a bank stating that sufficient funds are available
to finance all educational and living expenses.
International
students will receive an admissions decision only after all of the
required documents are on file in the appropriate office. No
decision will be made on incomplete files. The I-20 immigration
form, necessary for securing an F-1 visa, is issued only to a
student who has been accepted to the University and who has
confirmed his or her intention to enroll at Saint Joseph's by
sending the required registration fees.
All full-time
international students must register for the Student Health Plan.
In most cases the plan provides coverage for one year beginning
September 1.
International
students, upon acceptance for admission, are required to pay a non-refundable
deposit fee before the issuance of a form I-20 for the F-1 student
visa. This fee will be applied to the student's tuition.
