SEPTEMBER GRADUATIONS

Students intending to graduate in September 2004 must complete the Intent to Graduate Form no later than July 8, 2004.  Forms can be obtained at the Registrar's Office - BL 122. Fee: $100.00

ADVISING - SUMMER SESSIONS

Please call the department to schedule advising appointments. There are no unscheduled appointments.

INCLEMENT CLOSING HOTLINE

Saint Joseph's University has a "hot line" for information on University closing and opening delays at 610-660-3333. Listen to KYW, 1060 AM radio station for the emergency closing #2104 for the Philadelphia campus.

DEFERRED PAYMENT PROGRAM

Students who wish to take advantage of the deferred payment programs must apply on-line. Employer tuition deferral forms are available on the web and are also sent with the invoices. The application, along with a non-refundable participation fee of $35.00 must be returned by the original due date along with a signed copy of your Tuition Repayment Promissory Note. Refer to the form for complete details. All loans must be paid in full before a student may register for another semester.

WITHDRAWAL – REFUNDS

Students who find it necessary to drop or withdrawal from a course should come in person, write or fax (610-660-1019) their information to the Student Service Center  (BL 121).  A refund of tuition will be based on the date this notice is received.  No refunds will be issued until after SSII.  Students are liable for tuition charges for each course based on the first official day of a semester whether or not their class is held on that day.   All refunds are based upon the cost of the course, not the amount paid.  The schedule is as follows:

WHAT'S NEW AND DIFFERENT

SPE 4305 Family, School and Community Collaboration in a Diverse Society - This course requires students to have access to a computer, since all but the opening class will be ON LINE. The course focuses on the process of family assessment and intervention, issues of family and professional collaboration and diversity, and methods of promoting adult communication and management strategies.

EDU 5065 Holocaust and Genocide Education: Teaching About the Holocaust Through Film This seminar will focus on the films of the Holocaust to discover what they tell us about the Holocaust as history, about popular attitudes toward the Holocaust, how memory is created, about perceptions of the Jews, the historical context in which the film was made and how to properly integrate film into the curriculum. This methodology of analysis provides the foundation for using film to teach about the Holocaust.

WEB & MAIL REGISTRATION

Students are advised to register early in order to assure that they will receive the classes of their choice.  Because of limited class size, some courses are closed before general registration.

WEB: Accessing our web system will allow you to the following: 1) register for courses 2) view tuition charges 3) view financial aid 4) apply for tuition deferral.  To access this information you must go to: Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer.  At this location type in: http://MySJU.sju.edu.  Type in your login name (Note: Questions concerning your password contact: Information Technology Help Desk – 610-660-3070).  Type your password.  Click on Administrative Services.  Click on Student Services and Financial Aid.  You will then see a menu.  Choose registration.  Select term.  Click submit.  Click on check your registration status.  This will advise whether or not you have any holds that would prohibit your registration.  Holds must be cleared in order to register.  In the event that you have a hold, please contact the appropriate office that has placed the hold.  Next, click the back icon at the top of the screen to take you back to the menu.  Click on ADD/DROP classes.  You will be prompted to input your alternate pin number – 111111.  Click on submit pin.  You can begin to input the courses selected.  To register courses you must input the CRN number of the course.  Click the register button to register courses.  Please note that once it has been submitted a notice of results will appear indicating what courses have been registered.  Those that have not been registered will have an explanation.

FAX/MAIL: After choosing your courses, fill out the balance of the registration form completely.  If you do not know your Saint Joseph's University ID number, list your Social Security number on the form. Submit the Registration Form by faxing it to the Student Service Center at 610-660-1019 or mail to: Student Service Center, Saint Joseph's University, 5600 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131-1395.

EDUCATOR'S SCHOLARSHIP: Matriculated Education students who are eligible for the scholarship must have a current letter of eligibility on file in the Financial Assistance Office.  The fax number in the Financial Assistance office is 610-660-1342.  The scholarships are only for Graduate Education courses.  No scholarship will be issued following tuition payment.

Tuition payment need not be included with your registration.  The Student Service Center will send invoices with a due date of May 6th for SSI and June 17th for SSII.  If payment is not received by the due date a late fee of $40.00 will be assessed and your registration is subject to cancellation.  If your registration is cancelled and you wish to be reinstated there will be a $200.00 reinstatement fee.  Tuition: EDU, PSY & CSC - $685.00 per credit hour. All other Arts & Sciences - $640.00 per credit hour.
