Welcome to the Major/Minor Expo Faculty Resource Page!

As you may recall from last year, the goal of this event is to enable students to explore majors and minors available to them at SJU in a comprehensive forum.   All students are welcome; however, the emphasis is placed on students who are exploring majors as well as those who are interested in learning about minor options.   Approximately 30% of the freshman class and 15% of the sophomore class are undeclared with regard to major.  We believe that this type of event is an excellent opportunity for students to explore their options at SJU and begin making connections with faculty and fellow students in their area of interest.

We were thrilled with the faculty and student response to last year’s event.  Based on feedback we received, we have incorporated some changes for this year’s Expo:

  • The year’s Expo will be held in the Gray Café in Campion.  This larger venue will better accommodate the needs of the Expo and allow for more substantive interaction among faculty, students, and alumni.
  • Enhancements to the Expo Website will allow faculty to register for the event online.  It will also feature Expo information and resources to help students prepare for the Expo.
  • We are implementing new ideas that are intended to increase student awareness and participation, particularly among our intended audience.
We encourage all academic majors and minors to send representatives to participate in the Expo.  We are inviting faculty, student leaders, and recent alumni to staff tables.  The atmosphere will be informal and students are encouraged to come at any time during the designated Expo hours.  Food and raffles will be available throughout the event for participating students.

You may register for the Expo through the Major/Minor Expo Website by clicking here.  If we can do anything to aid in your preparation for the Expo, please indicate so on the registration form.  We hope that this event will be an effective recruitment tool for majors, minors, and student academic organizations.  You will be able to meet a critical mass of students who are interested in learning about your program.
