Dr. Jodi Mindell is a professor at St. Joseph's University and of neurology at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences (formerly Medical College of Pennsylvania). In addition to teaching and research, she is Clinical Pediatric Director at the Sleep Disorders Center at Allegheny University where she treats children of all ages and their parents.

Dr. Mindell has written over 20 papers on pediatric sleep disorders and presented over 50 papers at national conferences. The majority of her research, spanning the past ten years, focuses on the assessment and treatment of common sleep problems in children. In addition, she has conducted research on the education and knowledge of pediatricians about sleep and sleep problems in children. Given that Dr. Mindell is known in professional circles as having the most successful technique to treat young children with sleep problems, she is frequently quoted in national publications including Child, Parents, Parenting, Redbook, and Sesame Street Parents Place. She has also appeared on national television discussing children's sleep disorders, including CBS This Morning and CNN.

Dr. Mindell is nationally recognized in her field for her expertise on pediatric sleep problems. She was invited to author the section on pediatric sleep disorders for the National Commission on Sleep Disorders, a project mandated by Congress in 1993. She was appointed a member of the Pediatric Council of the National Sleep Foundation, a foundation established to educate the public about sleep and sleep disorders. She is also a member of the Task Force on Sleep Curriculum for Medical Schools for the American Sleep Disorder Association.

Dr. Mindell received her Ph.D.from the State University of New York at Albany and conducted her internship training at Brown University Medical School. She is married, has a 9 month old baby (who is sleeping through the night!), and lives in Rosemont, Pennsylvania.
