Internship Information Session. Tuesday, February 27 at 11:30 a.m. Presidents Lounge, Campion Student Center. This event will provide information on all aspects of the internship: seeking one, applying for one and interviewing for one.
Dressing for Success and Networking Etiquette. Wednesday, February 28 at Noon and again at 1:00 p.m. Sourin Lounge. Presented by Matthew Brink, Director of Career Development and Dr. Todd Krug, Director of Living Learning. Any student who wants to come to New York on March 29 must attend this program. This program will provide an overview of wardrobe essentials for the Business Hall trip to New York and offer students important information for professional conduct/conversation with business professionals and alums in New York.
Choosing/Changing Your Major. Thursday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. Sourin Lounge. Thinking about declaring a major? Thinking about changing your major? Either way, the decision is important and needs to be made carefully. This program will guide students through the process of selecting a major or changing into a major that is the right one.
New York Council Event. Wednesday, March 21 at 7:00 p.m.
- Freshman and sophomores will join New York Executive Council members in a panel discussion where students who have an interest in working in New York upon graduation will have the opportunity to engage in a question and answer session.
- Juniors and seniors will join New York Executive Council members in roundtable discussions. More in-depth and engaged conversations will take place and those Council members who have the ability to offer internships or job opportunities should consider the roundtable event.
Business Hall Trip to New York. Thursday, March 29. This all-day annual chartered-bus trip to Manhattan will provide Business Hall students with the opportunity to receive an overview of the work life in a business setting. Company hosts will provide a synopsis of their company, talk about job requirements and qualifications needed to fulfill those requirements and provide tips on what students need to do now to lay the groundwork for a successful corporate career. Confirmed sites include Pricewaterhouse-Coopers and ESPN Magazine.
The Business of Leadership and Making Money. Wedesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. Borgia Hall first floor meeting room. Presented by Fr. Bruce Bidinger, SJ, Assistant to the Dean/Haub School of Business. Drawing from his years of leadership experience and from his relationships with leaders of major business organizations, Fr. Bidinger will engage the audience on the topic of what constitutes effective leadership--as well as on how wanting to make money is consistent with Catholic, Jesuit ideals.
Final Exam Review: Managerial Accounting. Monday, April 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sourin Lounge. Presented by Mr. Joseph Ragan, Chair, Accounting Department. This long-standing and much-valued review session will provide students with a guide to help them study successfully for the Managerial Accounting final exam (to be given on Tuesday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m.). Students should bring a notebook, calculators, pencils and pens--along with questions.
