Before coming to higher education, Dr. Sabbatino taught for over 20 years in K-12 schools as a special educator in New York, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Delaware. At Saint Joseph’s she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses preparing future educators to teach students with low and high incidence disabilities. She also teaches inclusive classroom management, and facilitates the special education student teaching seminar. Dr. Sabbatino’s research agenda is focused in the areas of transition from high school to postsecondary education for students with learning disabilities and Asperger’s Syndrome, as well as learning strategies for students with intellectual and learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
