Steven Miller, Ph.D.
Steve obtained his Bachelor's Degrees in Finance and Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Wisconsin, and spent twelve years working as a consultant for corporate risk managers. Most of his consulting work was performed at Marsh where Steve helped large, international organizations leverage data and information systems to meet risk management objectives. Throughout his career, Steve was based in Chicago, New York and London and has extensive international experience, managing consulting engagements around the globe.
Steve left consulting to pursue his doctorate in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia. In 2009, he joined St. Joseph's University to help launch their new major in Risk Management and Insurance. He has recently been invited to serve as a Visiting Foreign Scholar by the Central University of Finance and Economics (based in Beijing, China) with their Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science program. The visiting position is sponsored by China's Ministry of Education to support a cultural exchange in teaching and research.
He has published articles in a number of academic journals, including: Journal of Banking and Finance; Journal of Risk and Insurance; and Journal of Insurance Regulation.
