  • Following this workshop, students and their initial advisors will construct a dissertation prospectus that will be presented by the initial advisor to a doctoral faculty committee for their approval prior to the start of EDU 7245 Dissertation Seminar and Proposal Writing. The prospectus will be no longer than 15 pages and reflect a synopsis of their first three dissertation chapters (introduction, literature review, and methodology), and an APA formatted reference page.
  • Along with the prospectus, students will present their ideas concerning their potential dissertation chairperson, committee members, and a rationale for each member’s participation.
  • For some students, this prospectus process will represent their actual dissertation topic. For others, this may be a tentative proposal that may change prior to EDU 7245. However, in all cases, the prospectus process will provide the foundation for their successful construction and defense of their dissertation proposal.
