The program in Writing Studies provides diverse opportunities for you as a writer to develop your sense of craft and understand more fully the various roles that writers assume in the workplace and in the evolution of culture over time. Texts are created and edited. Articles are worked up for various journals. Information is organized and shaped. Novels are sold. Screenplays are produced. Writing teachers help others grow their talents.

All of this development and growth in understanding should prove valuable at the end of the program when graduates move on to the next stage of a life plan. There is work for writers out there in the world. We have designed the “Career” section of our Writing Studies program web site to help graduates of the program find employment that meets both needs and interests. The Writing Studies program operates to help you grow as a writer. The Career section serves you even more directly as you look for work.
