Biography
Professor Hage specializes in modern and contemporary American and European art, particularly issues of national, religious, and racial identity. She has written and spoken on a wide range of topics, from Dada to African American, Latin American, and Central and Eastern European art. Professor Hage earned a Ph.D. in the History of Art from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Art History at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Before coming to Saint Joseph’s University, she gained a great deal of curatorial experience at many art museums, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.
