A total of eleven (11) courses are required for completion of the degree of Master of Science in Environmental Protection and Safety Management.
Courses
I. Core courses (21 credits)
All students are required to take seven core courses: Seminar: Environmental Protection Management, Seminar: Disaster Planning and Management, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Law and Enforcement, Risk Analysis, and Case Study in Environmental Protection and Safety Management.
II. Elective courses (12 credits)
All students are required to take four elective courses. Some of the courses students can choose from include: Research and Evaluation, Environmental Waste, Crisis Leadership, Critical Incident Stress Management, etc. Students may, in special cases, substitute a course from the M.S. in Public Safety Management Program with the specific permission of the Program Director.
Post-Master’s Certificate
Students who already possess a Master's degree and complete six (6) courses of study as determined through consultation with the Program Director, will be awarded a Post-Master's Certificate in Environmental Protection and Safety Management. The curriculum will be customized to individual's needs and courses will be selected from the offerings with consideration of the professional and personal goals of the individual student.

Students who register for the post-bachelor’s certification programs may transfer these courses to the applicable master’s degree program if they wish to pursue the graduate degree.
