A total of eleven (11) courses are required for the degree of Master of Science in Homeland Security. They are broadly grouped into a homeland security and an administrative component.

PSE 4325 Law Enforcement Technology
PSE 5425 Seminar: Special/Target Hazard Planning and Evaluation
PSE 5565 Seminar: Disaster Planning and Management
PSE 5745 Terrorism: Contemporary Issues
PSE 5755 Homeland Security: Perspectives and Issues
PSE 6025 Case Study in Homeland Security
II. Electives (4 courses)
Students are also required to take 4 electives from a broad selection of courses offered by the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Institute.
Post-Master’s Certificate
Students who already posses a Master’s degree and complete six (6) courses as determined through consultation with the Program Director, will be awarded a Post-Master’s Certificate in Homeland Security.
Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
Students who are interested in a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Homeland Security must complete six (6) of the seven (7) core courses.
