Dr. Michelle Rowe
Licensed psychologist with a BS degree in psychology from Glassboro State College, Masters and Ph.D. from Temple University. Teaches courses in health pyschology, chronic illnesses, disabililites, alternative medicine, non-traditional therapies, public health behaviors, statistics and research methods. 

Areas of reseach include:
dental fear and phobia, personality style relating to stress and burnout, college students participating in service-learning or community volunteerism.

Recent publications appeared in:
Journal of Behavioral Medicine , American Journal of Health Behavior , American Journal of Health Studies , Journal of Dental Hygiene , Journal of Prevention and Intervention in the Community .

Dr. Frank Bernt
Received BA in Philosophy from Mt. Angel Seminary, master's in Philosophy from Boston College, and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Temple University. Teaches courses in research design, psychology of religion, curricular strategies in health education, health-related service learning courses.

Areas of research include:
psychology of religion, motivational and attributional factors contributing to prosocial behavior, role of reciprocity and gratitude in ethical behavior, moral development.

Recent publications appeared in:
Journal of Genetic Psychology , Personality and Individual Differences , Journal of Marriage and Family Therapy , Journal of Drug and Alcohol Studies , AIDS Education and Prevention , Journal of Psychology and Theology .

Dr. John J. Newhouse
Received BA degree from Temple University, Masters in Organizational Development from University of Pennsylvania, Master of Education and Ed.D. in communications from Temple University, member of the American College of Health Care Executives. Teaches courses in health care organization, health care administration, health care strategic planning and marketing, program planning in health education and promotion, managed care, and health care industry's business/organizational structures. Dr. Newhouse joins the faculty with 20 years of experience in health care administration.

Areas of research include:
technology in human services education, health care issues/policies, health care leadership development, competency management in health care organizations.

Recent presentations include:
Pennsylvania Public Health Association, Society of Health Care Human Resources Association, American Society of Training and Development, Technology in Social Work Conference, National Academic Chairs Conference.

Dr. Sally Black
Obtained R.N. from Thomas Jefferson University, BSc (Hons) in Chemistry at Plymouth University (England), M.S. in Health Education from Saint Joseph's University and Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Temple University, Department of Public Health. Teaches courses in urban violence, research methods, health of school aged children, program planning, and nutrition.

Areas of research include:
Evaluation of best practice programs in youth violence prevention. Dr. Black performed one of the longest running evaluations of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program in a U.S. urban environment. The evaluation used data triangulated from multiple sources, including student survey and lunch and recess observations.

Recent presentations include:
American Public Health Association, American Educational Research Association, International Bullying Prevention Association, National Conference on Safe Schools, and Stockholm Criminolgy Conference.

Dr. David White
Received BS in business administration from West Virginia University, Masters of Public Health and Ph.D. from the Schools of Public Health and Social Work, University of Pittsburgh. His work background includes public health agencies, state governements, health care centers, and universities. Teaches courses in health administration, managed care, quality initiatives in health care, organizational change and development.

Areas of research interest include:
total quality management, customer service, organizational effectiveness, strategic planning.

Recent publications include articles in:
Managed Care Quarterly , Organization and Development Journal .
