Laptop Program
All students majoring in psychology are required to participate in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS)
laptop computer program. Students majoring in psychology must purchase an Apple laptop that meets the system specifications set by the program. Each student will be charged a technical support fee of $50 per semester. The student help desk, located in Room 129 in the Science Center, provides technical support via walk-in, email, web, and phone to students in the laptop program. For more information, visit http://www.sju.edu/laptop/psychology.
Minor in Psychology
There are two options open to students who wish to complete a minor in psychology. One option requires that the student take PSY 1001, two 1000- and three 2000-level selections. The second option requires that the student take PSY 1001, PSY 2021 (Research Methods), two other 1000-level courses, and two other 2000-level courses. The difference between the two options is that PSY 2021 is a prerequisite to some 2000-level psychology courses but not others. In choosing between the two options students should consider the 2000-level courses that they plan to take and the prerequisites for these courses.
