Biography

Dr. Lawson is a developmental psychologist with research interests in the area of early cognitive development. His work explores the development of categorization and reasoning from infancy into the preschool years. He has additional interests in understanding adult reasoning and decision-making.

Dr. Lawson received Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from Northeastern University (Boston, MA) in 2000. In 2007 he received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Lawson then spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University before joining the SJU Department of Psychology in Fall 2009.
