Before coming to the University, she was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child was in first grade. Mrs. Shaw has been employed at Saint Joseph’s University since 1985 and she worked in the Admissions Office for ten years before joining the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department.

The best part about her job is greeting the many faces who enter the department and helping to answer their questions. Her goal is to make all those who enter feel welcome and help them navigate the logistics of the University.

She has been married for 40 years and has three children (two of whom graduated from Saint Joseph’s University) and two grandchildren, Shawn and Katelynn who are a source of endless joy. An avid quilter, she spends much of her free time at quilt shows and retreats "where people concentrate on quilting and laughing" and "have uninterrupted time to just sew".
