Welcome!
Saint Joseph's - a nationally recognized, Catholic, Jesuit university - is distinguished by its rigorous academic programs, alumni who lead and achieve after graduation, as well as an institutional focus on the common good. Ultimately, there is no greater barometer for a college or university than its attractiveness to outstanding students.
Saint Joseph's draws top students from across the country and around the world. The University remains dedicated to its founding principle: that an education based in the liberal arts teaches disciplined reasoning, effective communication and a love of learning. Saint Joseph's thus achieves both excellence and balance in its academic offerings, all within the framework of the Jesuit tradition of inquiry and service.
Graduate Level
Saint Joseph’s University offers various graduate programs in the Arts & Sciences and in Business. Details about each program of study can be found online and in the Graduate Catalog.
Undergraduate Day College
International students looking to experience “traditional” American college life – living in college dormitories, participating in clubs and activities with their peers, and generally being immersed all day, every day in campus life – should apply to the university’s day program. Saint Joseph’s offers a variety of undergraduate majors in the Arts & Sciences and in Business. Details about specific major requirements, as well as special programs and the university’s General Education Requirements (GER), can be found in the SJU Course Catalog.
Undergraduate University College
International students 22 years of age or older who want to earn their Bachelor’s degree should apply to the University College. Through this non-traditional undergraduate program, Saint Joseph’s offers a variety of majors in Business and the Arts & Sciences. Details about specific major requirements, as well as special programs and the university’s General Education Requirements (GER), can be found in the University College Course Catalog.
English Program for International Students (EPIS)
On the Saint Joseph's University campus, the ELS Language Center runs an academic program for students who want to learn English. Students can participate in this program for language instruction only without any intention of studying at SJU afterward. However, students who want to improve their English before starting college level work can do so at ELS and then move on to St. Joe's. Students who complete ELS Level 112 can waive the TOEFL requirement when they apply to their program of choice at Saint Joseph's.
