Outreach Lectures

Spring 2012

A Declaration of Great Importance

Whereas, The Faith-Justice Institute Outreach lecture Series has enjoyed and will commemorate thirty years of providing Saint Joseph's University and the wider community with opportunities to hear outstanding speakers on important topics;

Whereas, Sister Francis Joseph of the Religious of the Assumption order has given countless hours of time in preparing and staging the Faith-Justice Outreach Lecture Series over the course of decades;

Whereas the Advisory Board of the Faith-Justice Institute has discussed, deliberated and whole-heartedly and unanimously acknowledge and wish to celebrate the contributions of Sister Francis Joseph, R.A. in regards to the successful implementation of Outreach Lectures through the years;

Now, therefore, the Faith-Justice Institute staff, on behalf of Saint Joseph's University and the faith-filled communities beyond its confines, does hereby proclaim on this date, the first of December, 2010 that hereafter and forever more the Faith-Justice Outreach Lecture Series will be known as the

Sister Francis Joseph, R.A. Outreach Lecture Series

Initiated in 1981, The Outreach Series presents lectures each semester highlighting contemporary issues relating to Christian faith and social justice. Its purpose is to engage both the Academy and the Church in “deep and sustained” conversation about timely matters of social justice from a range of faith perspectives. Typically, the Outreach Lecture topic is paired with the Faith-Justice Studies Series course
