Biographical Sketch

KIM A. LOGIO received her B.A. in Sociology from Gettysburg College . She went to graduate school at the University of Delaware where she received her M.A. and Ph.D., both in Sociology. She co-authored Adventures in Criminal Justice Research with George Dowdall, Earl Babbie, and Fred Halley. She also co-edited Understanding Society: An Introductory Reader with Margaret L. Andersen and Howard Taylor.

Her research on victims of juvenile crime with Dr. Patrick Carr is published in the International Review of Victimology and is titled “Keep Me Informed: What Matters for Victims as they Navigate the Juvenile Criminal Justice System in Philadelphia .” Logio also has an article in Violence Against Women, about the connection between childhood abuse, adolescent body image, and race. When not researching in the area of criminal justice, she continues to write, present, and research in women’s health, eating disorders, and body image. Her current project involves a childhood anti-obesity initiative involving local Philadelphia school children.

She is a member of the American Sociological Association, the American Society for Criminologists, Sociologists for Women in Society, and the Easter Sociological Society.

Logio lives in Hockessin , Delaware with her husband Jim and their three children, Nolan (age 6), Owen (age 4), and Isabel (age 1).
