Program Sequence
 

Students must complete eleven courses in the Master of Science in Human Resource Management Program (8 core courses, plus 3 electives). Two additional foundation courses may be needed before beginning the program, depending upon the student's previous academic experience. SHRM has confirmed that this course work aligns with the SHRM curriculum guidebook.

Foundation Courses

If needed, students begin by taking two Foundations Courses before beginning the program. These may be taken in the summer, spring, or fall semester. These courses are waived for students who have successfully completed these courses as undergraduates. *For others, students have the option of waiving the Marketing Concepts and Managing Work Organization courses by successfully completing a challenge exam prior to the start of their second year of course work. There is a small fee to challenge this courses and students who do not pass the challenge exams must complete the Marketing Concepts and Managing Work Organizations courses in order to graduate from the program.

Core Courses

The MSHRM core course sequence begins each fall semester and consists of eight required core courses.

Elective credits can be taken from the above list of courses. Up to two related courses (6 credit hours) may be taken in other Saint Joseph's University graduate programs with the permission of the Department Chair and the Graduate Business Program Office.
