CFP® Certification
 

This program is for CFP® Certification certification aspirants. The certificate program in finance has been structured for students who already possess the MBA degree, but who do not have the requisite coursework needed to sit for the CFP exam. Few students who complete an MBA or other graduate degree program qualify for the CFP® Certification unless, and until, they have earned graduate credits in each of the six areas listed below:

ACC 5015 Tax Planning for Management Decision Making (3 credits)
FIN 5005 Personal Financial Planning (3 credits)
FIN 5055 Portfolio Management (3 credits)
FIN 5225 Personal Insurance Planning (3 credits)
FIN 5235 Estate Planning (3 credits)
FIN 5245 Pensions and Benefits Administration (3 credits)

Certificate in Financial Planning

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification

Saint Joseph's University's Certificate in Financial Planning is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP) Board as an approved education program. 

Certified Financial Planner™ certification is the most recognized professional certification for financial planners, demonstrating expertise in the field and adherence to rigorous standards.  As a CFP Board-Registered Program, successful completion of the Saint Joseph's University's Certificate in Financial Planning satisfies CFP Board's education requirement, allowing an individual to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.

Saint Joseph's University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and flame logo marks.  CFP certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing and educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met ethics, experience and examination requirements. 

The certification marks above are owned by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. and are awarded to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.

The MSFS Program at Saint Joseph's University is the only regional Masters in Finance that is both AACSB accredited and CFP® Board Certifed.
