Is SJU

for you?

It just might

be if ...

You're not content to sit on the sidelines

You put 100 percent into everything you do (since 110 percent just isn't humanly possible)

You're not afraid to put your ideas out there- or to actively seek out the ideas of others

You love getting absorbed in a great book, a fascinating conversation, an important project or whatever it is that you're doing

You won't let a question rest until you've tracked down the answer

Your mind is quick, your commitment is strong and your enthusiasm is high

Your Next Steps
If you like what you have seen and are interested in applying to Saint Joseph's University as an international student, the following provides you with the steps you need to take.
  • Complete an application for admission.  We accept the on-line common application or the Saint Joseph's University paper application.
  • Along with your application, you will need to send the $65 USD application fee, a resume (or CV), an essay or personal statement and a letter of recommendation from a teacher at your secondary school.
  • Send an official copy of your marks (grades) from your secondary school (high school) to the Saint Joseph's University Admissions Office.  Academic records must include the name of each individual course, the grade earned, and the grading scale used. Documents must be submitted in one´s native language with an official English translation. The Undergraduate Admissions Office performs all international credential evaluations. Foreign documents, credentials and transcripts must be official (sealed and sent directly from the institution). Only originals or photocopies officially stamped and attested by a school official (Registrar, Principle, or Controller of Examinations) are accepted. Faxes, scanned or notarized copies or copies attested by a department head cannot be accepted as official. All credentials submitted to the Undergraduate Admissions Office become property of the University and cannot be returned.

  • Send your official results from the TOEFL or IELTS directly from the testing service.  You will want to take the test before you apply for admission so that the scores arrive in a timely fashion.  International students who wish to be considered for merit scholarships will need to take the SAT.  If you receive at least a 450 on the Critical Reading section of the SAT, you do not need to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
  • Be sure to send your materials via air mail with a routing number so you can keep track of your materials and make sure they arrive at Saint Joseph's!
  • Send a financial document or bank statement as proof of ability to pay for one year at Saint Joseph's University, approximately $45,000 USD.  This document will be used to issue you an I-20 form if you are accepted, the I-20 form is necessary for you to obtain a student visa to study at Saint Joseph's University.
