Is SJU

for you?

It just might

be if ...

You're not content to sit on the sidelines

You put 100 percent into everything you do (since 110 percent just isn't humanly possible)

You're not afraid to put your ideas out there- or to actively seek out the ideas of others

You love getting absorbed in a great book, a fascinating conversation, an important project or whatever it is that you're doing

You won't let a question rest until you've tracked down the answer

Your mind is quick, your commitment is strong and your enthusiasm is high

Application Process

Applying to college, made easy.

As you’re already well aware, it’s important for parents to allow their students to take the lead in submitting their college applications. After all, in a few short months, they’ll be expected to take full responsibility for their own academic coursework and performance. By giving them the ownership of the application process, you can assist them in making that transition.

But this isn’t to say you can’t support them throughout the process—often by providing “gentle reminders” of admission requirements and upcoming deadlines. The following information should help you help them.

What to submit with the application:
  • Saint Joseph’s University Application OR Common Application
  • Official high school transcript
  • Official copy of the SAT or ACT report (SJU does not require any SAT II exams, or the SAT or ACT writing tests)
  • One letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher
  • One essay, activities list, or resume
  • Application fee of $60*

*Saint Joseph’s will waive the application fee if a student provides a copy of the SAT fee waiver or a written request from his or her guidance counselor.

Important dates:

November 15  Early Action (non-binding) application deadline (decisions mailed by December 25)
February  1  Regular Decision application deadline (decisions mailed by March 15)
February 15  Preferred deadline for submitting the FAFSA
May 1  Deadline for admitted students to submit the non-refundable enrollment deposit, securing their place in the class
