Dr. Peter Kowey, M.D. '71 is an internationally respected expert in heart rhythm disorders. For the last 30 years, he has developed a large referral
practice in Philadelphia. His research has led to the development of dozens of
new drugs and devices for the treatment of a wide range of cardiac diseases. He
has authored hundreds of scientific articles and textbook chapters.
Dr. Kowey is chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at the Lankenau Hospital and the Main Line Health System. He is also professor of medicine at Jefferson Medical College, adjunct professor of pharmacology at MCP–Hahnemann School of Medicine and president of the Heart Center of the Main Line Health System.
He received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed residency training in internal medicine at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Kowey was a fellow in cardiovascular medicine and research at the Harvard University School of Public Health, the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and the West Roxbury VA Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Kowey's principal area of interest has been cardiac rhythm disturbances. He has served as a member of the Cardiorenal Drug Advisory Committee and the Cardiovascular Devices Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
LETHAL RHYTHM is his first work of fiction. He lives in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with his wife Dorothy.
Rosemarie Greco ’75

Throughout her career, Rosemarie Greco ’75 has been an inspirational leader, a mentor and advocate for women in both the public and private sectors.
Ms. Greco began her career in banking as a branch secretary, rising to become the highest ranking woman in American banking. She served as CEO and President of CoreStates Bank, N.A. and CEO and President of Fidelity Bank. Prior to entering the banking industry, Ms. Greco was a school teacher in Philadelphia’s Catholic schools.
After leaving the banking industry, Ms. Greco founded GRECOventures, Ltd – a consulting company for executives focused on strategic planning and organizational development. In 2003, she was appointed the Founding Executive Director of the Office of Health Care Reform under Governor Edward G. Rendell.
Currently, Ms. Greco is co-chairing Vision 2020: An American Conversation about Women and Leadership. This decade-long national effort seeks to educate people on issues of equality affecting Americans and is focused on finishing the work of the suffragists who pursued the women’s right to vote. Vision 2020 seeks to create an agenda to accelerate women’s leadership and equality over the next decade.
Ms. Greco is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and has served on Boards of both for- and not-for-profit organizations, including Saint Joseph’s University.

State Senator Michael A. O’Pake has dedicated his life to the Jesuit mission of serving others. During his lifetime of public service, the Reading and Berks County native has been recognized as a tireless and effective advocate for children, senior citizens, crime victims and those who cannot help themselves. Most notably, he led the charge to protect children in Pennsylvania through the passage of the Child Protective Services Law in 1974, in addition to spearheading efforts to implement the Amber Alert Child Abduction Early Warning System throughout the Commonwealth. He has sponsored major legislation to help Pennsylvania’s senior citizens, including property tax and rent rebate and prescription medication assistance.
A graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, where he was valedictorian and Student Council President, O'Pake received a full scholarship to attend Saint Joseph’s College, graduating summa cum laude in 1961 with a degree in International Relations. While at Saint Joseph’s, he was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honors Society; the Villager Debate Society; and president of the Student Government Association. He went on to receive a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1964, where he won the Keedy Cup for best appellate advocacy. He has also received Honorary Doctorates from Albright College and Kutztown University.
In addition to his civic duties, O’Pake has remained an active and dedicated alumnus of Saint Joseph’s, serving as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees from 2000-08, as well as sitting on the Alumni Executive Committee and Haub School of Business Advisory Board. In addition, SJU’s law alumni chapter presented him with The Honorable Francis X. McClanaghan’27 Award in 1998 and he received the Criminal Justice Alumni Award in 1988. A longtime supporter of the men’s basketball program, the team’s Unsung Hero Award is presented annually in memory of his late brother.
Currently the Democratic Whip and Minority Chairman of the Pennsylvania Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, he actively sits on a broad range of legislative committees. He has received countless awards for his community and legislative service and has sat on the Board of numerous schools and community organizations

Ron Kadish '70
"Missile Defense - Past and Future"

Ron Kadish is a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton who specializes in Acqusition and Program Management support for US government clients. He is responsible for Booz Allen’s Acquisition and Program Management Center of Excellence (COE). The COE provides program and project management; acquisition life cycle services; program integration, including science and technology/engineering integration; program leadership decision analytics; and international program management. Mr. Kadish served as chairman of the Defense Acquisition Performance Assessment (DAPA), a Federal Advisory Commission that examined the strengths and weaknesses of the defense acquisition process. The Commission’s recommendations were published in 2006.
After entering the Air Force in 1970, Mr. Kadish retired after 34 years of service in the grade of Lieutenant General. As a senior pilot, he has logged more than 2,500 flying hours, primarily in the C-130.
Before he left active duty, Mr. Kadish directed the DoD Missile Defense Agency, where he served as the acquisition executive for all ballistic missile defense systems and programs. He brought Army, Navy, Air Force, and civilian employees together in a $10 billion annual effort to develop, test, and deploy missile defenses against all ranges of threats in all phases of flight.
He held a variety of senior systems acquisition, program management, and command positions before joining Booz Allen in 2005. He served as program director for the F-15, F-16, and C-17 System Program offices, as well as director for manufacturing and quality assurance for the B-1B System Program Office. He also commanded the Electronic Systems Center, which is the Air Force Acquisition Center for Command, Control, and Intelligence.
Mr. Kadish holds an MBA from the University of Utah, a B.S. degree from Saint Joseph’s University, and is a graduate of the Squadron Officer School and a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College, both at Maxwell Air Force Base. He also graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort McNair and the Defense Systems Management College at Fort Belvoir.
