Alumni Service Awards

Each year, alumni spend countless hours supporting Saint Joseph's University through recruiting, fund-raising and networking efforts across the country. The SJU Alumni Association recognizes outstanding alumni for their commitment to the University.


The Saint Joseph's University Alumni Association
will present the
2008 Hogan and Ignatius Awards

Rev. Joseph S. Hogan, S.J. Award:Presented in the name of Rev. Joseph S. Hogan, S.J., to an individual for "the exemplification of Christian principles and outstanding loyal service to Saint Joseph's University."

The 2008 Hogan Award will be presented to labor organizer Wendell Young III '60, President Emeritus of Philadelphia Local 1776. 

Ignatius Award: Recognizes a graduate within the last 20 years who has devoted efforts in the service and promotion of Saint Joseph's University, or has lived a life of "service for others" consistent with the principles of Saint Ignatius Loyola.

The 2008 Ignatius Award will be presented to Tom Brzozowski '95  for his dedication to Saint Joseph’s and the community as evidenced by his 44 Buddy List and personal volunteerism.

The Shield of Loyola

The Saint Joseph's University Alumni Association's most prestigious honor is presented annually to a loyal alumnus/a of singular, distinguished accomplishments in his or her chosen field and pays recognition to the founder of the Society of Jesus.
