Financial Aid makes Saint Joseph's University accessible for academically qualified students who would not otherwise be able to afford a Saint Joseph's education. The University has also instituted the Ignatian Scholars program to help ensure a Saint Joseph's education is available to all deserving students. Scholarships are awarded to students who possess outstanding academic and achievement records. These scholarships allow Saint Joseph's University to attract the best students each year. In 2005, Saint Joseph's awarded more than $31,000,000 in sholarships and financial aid.
