The graduate programs of the Biology Department are intended for graduates who desire training in specialized fields and who are planning a career in teaching, research or professional practice in these areas. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and must present evidence of ability to pursue graduate work as exemplified by high scholastic achievement, high aptitude scores and exemplary recommendations. The Biology Department reserves the right to require additional undergraduate work prior to admission.
Admission Procedures: An application form can be downloaded here as an Adobe Acrobat file. The completed application form, official college transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, official copies scores of the Graduate Record Examination, and letters of recommendation from at least two faculty appraising the applicants qualifications for graduate study, are required of all applicants. Applications are accepted throughout the spring and summer but are considered in the order in which they are received. . The Graduate Admissions Committee will evaluate all applicants and decide whether the applicant has sufficient credentials to be admitted to the program. A personal interview with the applicant may be requested.
