Undergraduate Research
3 credits/semester

Course Description:
Undergraduate research affords students the opportunity to perform “real” science in collaboration with a Biology faculty member.  It includes practical instruction in library technique and laboratory or fieldwork on a specific biological problem.  Assignment of problem to be arranged with any of the Departmental faculty members.  Students must first obtain permission from the faculty member they wish to work with before registering for this course. One semester of research will count as one of the four upper-level Biology elective courses, subsequent semesters are free electives.  A minimum of three hours must be spent each week for each unit of credit.  Open to juniors and seniors, with permission of the chair.
