Honors Research 3 credits/semester, two semesters required
Course Description: Advanced students may engage in honors research with the permission of their faculty mentor. A student need not be in the Honors Program to engage in Departmental Honors Research,
but they typically must have a GPA of at least 3.5 in their major. Students in the Honors program can count one or both semesters of Honors Research towards their General Honors requirements. Students
will engage in an independent research project along the lines of those performed in Bio 2951 - 2961, but with greater depth required. A written proposal must
be submitted and apporved by the faculty mentor, the Department Chair and the Honors Director by April 30 of the student’s Junior year. At the end of their senior year, students enrolled in Honors Research
must submit a a written report of their work and give and oral presentation by April 20. Must be elected in junior year to allow adequate research time.
