Aarthi Gopinathan began her graduate
studies at SJU in the fall of 2001. Her Ustilago research involved
comparing polarity and filamentation in a variety of wild-type and mutant
strains, and she presented her work in Germany as well as at meetings in
the US. Before coming to SJU, Aarthi received her BSc from Madras University
in Microbiology, and took graduate courses in Genetics. She is currently
in a doctoral program at the University of Pennsylvania.
