Kimberly Pyle Leonhard began doing research in the fall of 1998.   She and Danielle Kusmaul started looking for linkage groups in U. maydis by characterizing meiotic progeny from a variety of mutant crosses.  Later, Kim worked with several different groups of UV-induced mutants, getting the mutations into compatible backgrounds and characterizing plant responses.  She presented her work locally, as well as at NCUR.  Kim graduated in 2000 and, as you can see here, she got married soon after graduation!  She and Jonathon live in New Jersey.
