Joseph Curry '00 began doing U.
maydis research in the summer of 1998, he worked a total of three summers.
Joe was involved in several projects, including the mutant characterization
and sequencing a gene that complements an interesting temperature sensitive
mutation. Joe and Kevin Dougherty presented a poster at the
Fungal Genetics Conference
in the spring of 1999. Joe received a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship,
awarded to undergraduate students interested in research, for his senior
year at SJU. Joe just finished his first year of medical school at
Georgetown, and this summer he's doing some research in a lab that focuses
on malaria.
