SJU Theatre Company is the premiere theatre producing organization at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. It has produced plays & musicals on the campus of Saint Joseph's University for over 80 years. The theatre company is supported by the Department of Music, Theatre & Film which offers courses in performance (acting, directing, musical theatre), music and film. It is also supported by the Department of English, offering courses in dramaturgy, playwriting, and dramatic literature. Productions are performed in Bluett Theatre, a 440 seat proscenium theatre on the campus. Productions are directed by faculty and and often incorporate professional guest artists (musical directors, choreographers, designers, etc) from both Philadelphia and New York City.

The Frank Olley Memorial Scholarship

SJU Theatre Company offers scholarship (The Frank Olley Memorial Scholarship) opportunities for students who participate in two productions each academic year (either as a performer or on a running crew). Applications for the scholarship award require an audition for the Artistic Directors. The deadline for applying for the scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year has passed. Please check our website in October 2012 for information about when applications are being accepted for the 2013-2014 academic year.
