Catholic Intellectual Series: Reflections on the Sacred Council of Our Time
William Henry Cardinal Keeler, J.C.D., D.D., Cardinal Archbishop Emeritus of Baltimore, will present a lecture on the date of the 50th anniversary of the calling of Vatican II as part of Saint Joseph's University's Catholic Intellectual Series. Cardinal Keeler, who trained at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pa., and is a former resident of Bala Cynwyd, will specifically focus on the history of the papal document Nostra Aetate, which was written during the Second Vatican Council, and how it dramatically reshaped relations between Catholics and non-Christians. He served as an expert advisor at the council and is regarded as one of the foremost experts on the subject in the United States.
