Advisors

Students will be assigned an advisor in their major.

Drop Add your first semester

Students may add or drop a course anytime through the first week of the new semester. In their first semester, transfer students should go to the Registrar's office to drop/add after consulting with their advisors. In subsequent semesters, transfer students may drop/add online after consulting with their advisors, where they obtain their new PIN.

Transfer Credits

Transfer credits appear on the curriculum worksheet and transcript. Students can access their curricular worksheets and transcripts through MySJU. Go to School Services, Administrative Services and then Student Services and Financial Aid. For curriculum worksheet, go to "Curriculum, Advising and Program Planning." For transcript, go to "student records and payments." Advisors may view their advisees' transfer records. On MySJU, go to School Services, then Administrative Services, then Faculty Services, click on the Advisor Menu and then "Student Academic Transcript." For each student, there is information about courses taken at other institutions, number of credits received and course equivalents. Grades from other institutions are not included in the students grade point average. It is helpful for students to inform professors in classes that are continuations of courses that they took the earlier course somewhere else--often professors make assumptions about what all students have learned previously that may not apply to transfer students.
