Pedagogical Style
I love to write, and I love igniting that passion in students, even if it requires dancing on tables. In my classes, I encourage students to keep journals, to meditate, to take risks in their writing, and to consider themselves members of an intimate writing community. Although I find the workshop model useful, I also like to allocate class time for writing exercises, readings, speakers, and the occasional renga party.
Other Information
Before joining the faculty at St. Joe’s, I was a columnist and editor for Isthmus Newspaper in Madison, WI.
