Master of Arts in Writing Studies

Welcome

Information SessionThe Writing Studies graduate program managed by the Department of English offered its first course, "The Practice of Writing," in the 2003 spring semester. Right from the beginning, superbly talented students, all sharing ambition to make a mark in the world through writing, joined the program in strong numbers, and the results in classroom learning have been extraordinary already. The first issue of "Avenue," a new literary magazine edited by students in the program, was published in April of 2004, and from the fall 2004 semester onward, students can choose from four course options covering all the areas of the program (writing and culture, rhetoric and composition, professional writing). If you want your future to be centered on lively and successful writing activity, you will gain much from the Writing Studies program at Saint Joseph 's.
