Careers in Physics
What can you do with a degree in physics? Find out, courtesy of the Society of Physics Students.
Some of our recent graduates have gone to graduate school at Penn, USP, Drexel, Columbia, and Delaware to take advanced degrees in materials science, bioinformatics, biochemistry, medical physics, and solid state physics. Others are engineers at industries like Neptune and Lockheed Martin, one is an Army officer, one an Air Force tanker pilot, one a Jesuit volunteer in Alaska.
Over the years, over 600 physics majors have graduated from Saint Joseph's. Many have become industrial physicists and engineers, some have gone into managerial positions, others are University professors or high school teachers, and quite a number are physicians. A number have started their own businesses, and others have risen to very senior positions at major industrial and government labs, including IBM, NASA, and the National Institute for Standards and Technology.
