Study Abroad: Programs
SJU List of Approved Study Abroad Programs
(Semester and Academic Year Programs)
SJU students are able to choose from the following list of approved and affiliated programs. All students should read and understand the SJU Study Abroad Policy before applying to any program. Please be advised that policies regarding semester and academic year abroad differ from those regarding a summer abroad. If you are interested in taking a class overseas during the summer, please review the SJU Summer Abroad Policy.
SJU students studying at these universities have transfer of credit pre-approved (all courses are approved by academic advisors and Department Chairs and CIP prior to departure). SJU students studying abroad on an Approved/Affiliated Program pay SJU tuition which CIP forwards to these institutions. All financial aid is applied to the student's account as if he/she were studying at SJU. In most cases, students pay housing and other program fees directly to the program provider listed below. Click on the program for more detailed information.

Non-Approved / Affiliated Programs: If students wish to apply to a study abroad program not currently on this Approved or Affiliated Program List, they should carefully read the Study Abroad Policy for more information on petitioning to attend Non-Approved/Affiliated Programs. Students should also make an appointment to meet with a member of CIP staff to discuss the petition process ASAP.
The deadline for filing petitions for study abroad during the spring semester is October 1 of the preceding semester, and for fall semester the deadline is February 15 of the preceding semester.
If the student's petition is approved, the student's study abroad program will be administered by Saint Joseph's University in the same way as all other study abroad programs and the student must pay Saint Joseph's tuition.
