Previous SJU Sigma Xi
 Student Research Symposia

The next symposium (April 20, 2007) will be the 18th annual SJU Sigma XI Student Research Symposium held.  The series was started by Dr. Paul Tefft (current SJU Biology Chair) and Dr. Robert Cordero (now on the faculty of Holy Family College).  From the modest start with a few dozen posters, the symposium has continually grown, with each of the last four years setting records, both for the numbers of posters and the numbers of attendees.  The 16th symposium, held on April 22, 2005 as a joint meeting with the Eastern Colleges Science Conference, featured some 230 posters and more than 70 talks presented by some 600 students and faculty mentors from 60 colleges and universities in ten states. The abstract book from the last five symposia are available at the links below.  They are stored as Adobe pdf files.  You can download the free Acrobat reader by clicking on the “Get Acrobat” icon at the bottom of the page.
