The Marketing Department provides a rigorous education in the theory and practice of marketing while also providing opportunities to more thoroughly investigate a particular aspect of the field so that students can succeed and thrive in today’s ever changing and challenging global marketplace. Students are our primary customers and are active partners in this educational process.

Our roster of course presents students with a range of interesting options:
- General Marketing track: Whether a student is considering a career in business, non-profit organizations or academia, the general marketing track provides a solid foundation in both marketing theory and current practices.
- Marketing Communications track: For the student whose interests include advertising, promotions and public relations, this track includes in-depth courses in these areas as well as frequent guest lectures by leading industry executives.
- Sports and Entertainment Marketing track: Students learn how traditional marketing practices are applied – and often rewritten – in the world of sports and entertainment through specialized courses and interaction with local sports and media executives.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MARKETING MAJOR
A Marketing Major requires the successful completion of 40 courses with a minimum of 122 credits to graduate. Each student must complete the basic requirements for a B.S. in Business Administration in addition to the core major requirements listed below.
The Marketing Major core is designed to give students a broad perspective on marketing tools and applications, and applies to the general concentration as well as both tracks. The five courses in the core follow Principles of Marketing which is part of the Business Foundation courses.
