In 1998, the Erivan K. Haub School of Business moved to its new location in Mandeville Hall. Located on the corner of 54th Street and City Line Avenue in Philadelphia, the 89,000 square-foot building also houses the Center for Food Marketing Research, Academy of Food Marketing, and Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics.
This state-of-the-art $25 million building holds classrooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, research facilities, computer labs, a teletorium (auditorium), faculty and administrative offices and informational gathering spaces. All classrooms are equipped with interactive communication and multimedia technology.
One of the most innovative teaching environments in Mandeville Hall is its "Moot Board Rooms", which are modeled after the moot court concept found in law schools throughout the United Statates as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. These rooms accommodate the teachings of real-world situations through dramatizations and analyses of interactive business negotiations. With space for 50 students, they have stepped, semicircular seating surrounding a boardroom table.
Libraries: The Francis A. Drexel Library contains a business collection of more than 335,000 volumes, 1,850 periodical subscriptions, seventeen CD-ROMs, and over 1,250 videos and Fortune 500 annual reports. The business portion of the print collection contains a high percentage of the Harvard Core, a list of 3,500 books recommended by the Harvard Business School for use by graduate business schools. In addition, the following on-line services are available to MBA students: Dialog, LEXIS/NEXIS, the Internet and World Wide Web, FirstSearch, and Uncover, among others.
Financial Aid: MBA students can apply for federal loans and other supplementary loans by contacting the Financial Aid Office at 610-660-1555.
Academic Computing Services: Computer labs are available in Mandeville, Barbelin, and Villiger Halls. Students, faculty, and staff have access to electronic mail as well as a large collection of application software such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, statistical programming languages, and other web-based tools.
Career Service Center: The Career Service Center offers a comprehensive range of career planning and job search services for MBA students. The Career Resource library contains occupational information, employer literature and directories, and current job listings. Workshops are offered on resume writing, interviewing, and job hunting. Individual assistance is available for students seeking assistance with job search techniques and strategies.
