Objectives:

•  Develop an awareness of the connection between distance education and the Jesuit mission in higher education.

•  Provide an opportunity for Jesuit institutions to share their teaching and learning experiences in distance education. We would welcome the opportunity to include other Jesuit institutions in addition to the three participating schools noted below.

Procedures for Asking Questions During the Jesuit Videoconference

During the videoconference on May 11 th , the bridging company will keep all sites muted at the bridge except for the three primary sites (Saint Joseph's, Fordham, and San Francisco).  We will be using AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) to monitor questions from the other sites that are participating in the conference.  There has been an AIM screen name set up for the conference, “Jesuit Questions.”  Add this screen name to your buddy list.  When your site wants to ask a question, send an IM to “Jesuit Questions.”  Please include the name of your site (school) in the IM so that I can acknowledge your site and have the bridge unmute you.  Your site will then be able to ask its question and will remain unmuted until the speaker has responded to your question.  This will allow your site to ask a follow up question without having to go through the muting/unmuting process.

If you have any questions about this process, be contact me at 610-660-1773 or by email, lees@sju.edu.
