Electronic Mail
A University Email
account is established for each student at SJU. All electronic
communication from the University (faculty, administrators, staff
and students) will be sent exclusively to your University email
account so it is very important that you check your email account
daily.
You can access your e-mail in three ways:

Your Personalized E-mail Address
Each student at Saint Joseph's is assigned a Personalized E-mail Address. Your Personalized E-mail Address is simply a more friendly, intuitive way for family, friends, faculty and staff to reach you via email.
Your Personalized Address
has been created using your first and last names as stored in
the University's Information System. The format of the address
is as follows:
firstname.lastname@sju.edu
All punctuation marks are removed from your name and a period separates your first and last names. For example, a Personalized E-mail Address for Jane Smith would be jane.smith@sju.edu.
All incoming e-mail addressed to your Personalized E-mail Address will be delivered to your University account. Moreover, use of the Personalized Address is not limited to members of the University community -- anyone, anywhere can send mail to this address.

SquirrelMail: An Alternate Way to Retrieve your University Mail
SquirrelMail is web-based email software supported by the University
and accessible by pointing your browser to https://www.sju.edu/squirrelmail/. When retrieving your e-mail using SquirrelMail, you will be prompted for your computer account username and password.
E-mail Client
The fact that there are many different titles and versions of e-mail clients makes the creation of a single set of step-by-step instructions very difficult. Therefore the following general information is provided to answer the most common questions that are asked when setting up an e-mail client.
NOTE: When using e-mail client software on a computer that is NOT connected to the network, you will only be able to receive e-mails. You will not be able to send e-mails.
