Library Information Resources

The Francis A. Drexel Library is the University's gateway to scholarly information - much of it Web-based and tailored to meet the needs of our curriculum. At the Library's homepage, (http://www.sju.edu/libraries/drexel), students have access to a number of information resources including:

University Online Catalog

Jerome is the name of the University online catalog and it can be accessed at http://jerome.sju.edu/. In the Library, eight iMac computers are dedicated to searching the Library's online catalog.

Off-campus Access to Research Databases

The University's Proxy Server provides an easy, secure way for authorized students, faculty and staff to access most of the Library's subscription electronic resources from off-campus locations using the Web. Initiate the access by clicking the "Off-campus Access" button on the Library's homepage. You will be taken to a login page where you must enter your SJU Campus Network Username and Password.

Public Access Workstations

There are thirty-five computers for Internet research and document processing using Microsoft Office applications.

Laptop Network Connections

Sixty network connections for attaching student-owned laptop computers to the campus network are available throughout the Library.

Wireless Networking

Wireless network connection is available in all seating areas on the first and second floors for student laptops equipped with wireless network cards.

Printing

All workstations and network connections in the Library are configured to print at the Library's networked print station where both a black & white and a color printer are available. There is a charge for printing: 10¢ per page for black & white; 50¢ per page for color. Payment is made through the use of the chip on your University ID card.

Reference Services

Our Web pages are designed to help you get started with your research work, but when you need further assistance, our Librarians are here to help. Our reference hours are:

Monday - Thursday 9am - 10pm
Friday 9am - 5pm
Saturday 10am - 6pm
Sunday 2pm - 10pm

Visit or call the Reference Desk (610- 660-1904), during Reference Hours. An interactive call is often the most effective way for us to help you. Or, you may submit a reference question via our Web-based Reference Service at http://www.sju.edu/libraries/drexel/webref/refform.htm.
