Dial-up Access - For Lancaster Court Residents only

Setting up your Saint Joseph's SNiP account

For students living in Lancaster Court, SNiP dial-up accounts are available FOR FREE*. This service is offered through the University's Internet Service provider, SNiP Internet & Telecommunications, Inc. Each student in Lancaster Court will be assigned a SNiP username and password. The SNiP software can be installed on each residents computer, but only one resident will be able to connect at one time.

*Note: Before you can get connected with SNiP, you must have your telephone service turned on. You can call Verizon at 1-800-640-4155. Your room must have dialtone in order to connect through SNiP.

In order to take advantage of this offer, you must have a Windows or a Macintosh computer with a 56K modem installed. Once you verify this, please come to the University Helpdesk located in Barbelin, room 30 and let one of the members of the Helpdesk staff know that you are a Lancaster Court resident who needs a SNiP username and password. We will make sure that your name is on a list of Lancaster Court residents and then give you a username and password along with the appropriate instructions for setting up SNiP on your computer.

If you are an AOL user, you can reduce your monthly access cost for AOL service by activating your SNiP account. You can switch to AOL's BYOA (Bring Your Own Access) service to reduce the cost of your monthly AOL charges while maintaining full access to AOL's services.

Each dial-up account can service as a SNiP mail account if you would like to use it and comes with the ability to set up two additional SNiP mailboxes. If you wish to use these, you can refer to www.snip.net for instructions.
