Fr. Dennis Leder, S.J.
Father Leder comes to us from Rafael Landivar Universidad, a Jesuit-sponsored university in Guatemala. Father Leder was born in New Jersey, and has spent the last two decades in Central America.
In addition to his role at Landivar University, Father Leder is an accomplished artist. His diverse work has been shown in individual and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, has been reviewed in the New York Times, and is collected in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Father Leder received a bachelor of arts in philosophy and letters from Fordham University, studied theology at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology, and studied painting privately in New York, with additional studies at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
He is teaching "Introduction to Studio Art," a "hands-on" introduction to drawing, painting and sculpture. Fr. Leder will deliver his public lecture, "A Jesuit in the Arts: Creativity and Collaboration," on Thursday, March 26, at 4:00 PM in the Forum Theater, Campion.
