Economics Society Hosts 3rd Annual Networking Night (Doyle Banquet Hall 6:30-8:30 p.m.)

All Economics majors/minors/double majors are invited to this exciting event. There will be prospective employers on hand to discuss job opportunities so have your resume updated, dress in business casual attire and attend this worthwhile event. We have an AMAZING list of panelists who will be speaking about their experiences after graduation, and we'll have many alumni and industry partners in attendance as well. Our panelists include: Dennis Durkin, Senior Vice President of CBRE (Real Estate Group) and member of the SJU Board of Trustees Paul Manganella, '14, proprietor of Houzeme Becky Germino, '11 PhD, Manager, Specialized Therapeutics for US Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Bayer Dana Schapert, '10 MBA, Underwriting Specialist at Cigna Healthcare Mark Fanelli, '10 MBA '12, currently finishing his J.D. at Rutgers and clerking for the NJ Supreme Court

"Beauty Pays," by Dr. Daniel Hamermesh  (Click here for the recording of the lecture)

Dr. Hamermesh is the Sue Killam Professor in the Foundations of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin and the author of Economics is Everywhere and Beauty Pays.  He is known for his work on labor demand, the economics of time use and applications of economics to a wide range of daily life applications such as "workaholism," "time to eat," "time stress," "sleep," "social norms," and "beauty." Dr. Hamermesh also contributes to the New York Times Freakonomics Blog.
