Program Overview

*Saint Joseph’s University and Nazareth Hospital's School of Nurse Anesthesiology will no longer be accepting applications for admission. Current students can still find information under the "Current Students" tab.*

The MS in Nurse Anesthesia is offered in conjunction with Nazareth Hospital. It is designed for nurses who desire to study the educative and administrative aspects of health care as well as focus on the science of anesthesiology. The core courses are taught by Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and Anesthesiologists at the hospital site. Health Education and Administration courses are taught by the University faculty on Saint Joseph’s main campus.

The Saint Joseph’s University graduate program in nurse anesthesia offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity. The 27-month anesthesia curriculum is provided at Nazareth in a cohort fashion, beginning each September. Graduate courses in Health Education and Administration at Saint Joseph’s should be started once a student is accepted by Nazareth, typically 1 – 2 years prior to starting the 27-month program. This unique benefit allows the student to get a head.
