Welcome to the graduate program in Psychology at Saint Joseph’s University. Our program is a rigorous one where equal emphasis is placed on both coursework and empirical research. The main objective of the program is to train our graduates to independently design and conduct psychological studies, analyze and interpret data, and professionally communicate the findings of these studies. Graduates are prepared to secure positions in many areas of research or industry or pursue further studies in doctoral programs in experimental or clinical psychology.

The graduate psychology program is a full-time course of study. The program is designed for successful completion over two academic years. Classes are primarily scheduled on weekday afternoons. Students are expected to attend these classes regularly. Attendance is also required at colloquia, lab meetings, and other functions of the Department of Psychology. In addition, students are expected to have time available during weekdays to conduct scientific research.
